The Higher Education Programs offer through Asiainstitut of
Management are in collaboration with the
University of Canberrasince 1998. All
programs are registered and approved by the Ministry of
Education, Singapore since 1998.
The University of Canberra is one of the leading Australian
Government universities based in Canberra, ACT, Australia.
It was created by the Commonwealth Government through an Act of
Parliament in December 1989, from the former Canberra College of
Advanced Education, founded in 1967.
The University began operations on 1st January 1990, and is a
member of the Unified
National System
and of the
Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). The
University of Canberra’s mission is to provide the highest level
of professional undergraduate and postgraduate education in
Australia. The courses offered to international students are
registered with the
Commonwealth Register
of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
As such, the qualifications or awards that the University
conferred to International and Australian students are approved
and recognised.
It educates students for approximately 30 different professions,
among them information technology, management, law, accounting,
engineering, teaching, modern languages, marketing, journalism,
design, architecture, biomedical science, psychology, nursing,
environmental science and sports studies.
University of Canberra has one of the highest employment rates
for graduates in Australia. The University currently has
enrolled approximately 10,000 students from some 90 countries.
Its main source of international students is the Asia-Pacific
region, but students also come to University of Canberra from
Africa, North and South America, the Middle East and Europe.
The University has a special focus on international/global
developments and is situated in Australia's national capital.
University of Canberra programs have both a national and
international focus, as does most academic staff in relation to
their research expertise and focus.
The University of Canberra also offers a wide range of
undergraduate degree courses. These include Applied Science,
Communication, Education, Environmental Design, Information
Sciences, Engineering, Law and Management.
One major focus of our research is in the area of commercial law
and the National Centre for Corporate Law and Policy Research
has quickly gained a national and international reputation. The
division has two other major research centres, the Centre for
Research in Public Sector Management and the National Centre for
Social and Economic Modeling. Both centres have a strong
national and international reputation.
Many of our staff is engaged in collaborative research with some
of the leading universities and government bodies in China,
Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong and Singapore. The University is a
founding member of the Asia Pacific Economic Law Forum.
Publications include numerous leading texts and articles
including the production of the Australian Journal of Corporate
Law, Canberra Law Review and Corporate Law Update.
The University of Canberra, Division of Business, Law and
Information Sciences offers wide range of business courses from
Graduate Certificate through to PhD levels in most areas of
Business including Management, Accounting, Law, Banking,
Finance, Economics, Marketing and International Business.
Graduates have excellent employment prospects across a wide
range of careers. University of Canberra graduates rank near the
top in relation to starting salaries following graduation. They
find employment not only in Australia but also internationally,
for example in Singapore.
