Asiainstitut of Management
was founded in 1996 and
it is one of the leading business schools in Asia. Its mission
is to provide high quality, relevant management development
programs through strategic partnership with various higher
tertiary institutions, professional bodies, industries and
companies in the world that are intellectually stimulating and
appropriate to individual executives and companies or consortia
of companies.
Through years of training and
development, and research have moulded us into competent
professional, reliable provider of training programs that are
best suited to meet the needs and wants of our customers to
increase organizational performance. AMSBS seeks to inculcate a
love of learning, which will see our students take pride in
being the best professionals they can be and in whatever context
(business, private practice or government) they choose to
practice. Graduates have excellent employment prospects across a
wide range of careers in both the public and private sectors of
Singapore and also internationally. Since then, it has played a
pivotal role in providing new opportunities for tertiary
education and self-development for many graduates from
Singapore
Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic,
Nanyang Polytechnic and Republic Polytechnic
which make up of 98% of the current enrolled
students in the undergraduate program and the remaining 2%
consists of students with either GCE "A" Level
or equivalent
qualifications.
For those who wish
to gain direct
admission to the University of Canberra and or concern about
coping with the university study and the benefits acquire from
the smaller class sizes and additional academic support,
AM School of Business Studies, AMSBS (a division
of Asiainstitut of Management)
provides
the University Preparation Programs for these
group of students that link with a range of undergraduate
degrees at various Commonwealth universities.
With its experience in running
both undergraduate and postgraduate programs from the University
of Canberra, AMSBS is selected by
Yishun Junior College
in
March 2005 as the first education provider in Singapore to offer
its University Preparation Program – Diploma of Business
Administration to students in Yishun Junior College while doing
their GCE “A” level. Upon completion of the University
Preparation Programs, students will be given advanced standing
to the second year of the Bachelor of Business Administration
degree program from the University of Canberra.
AMSBS
is committed to being a good corporate citizen. As a centre for
business management, AM’s community efforts focus primarily on
the upgrading of graduates from the various polytechnics in
Singapore through its
Emmanuel Undergraduate and Postgraduate
Bursary Awards dated December 1999 to selected students to
pursue either the Bachelor and or Master degree
programs with the University of
Canberra. Following that, the
2005 Emmanuel first year
Undergraduate Scholarship for Bachelor of Business
Administration was launched in October 2004.
This scholarship is exclusive to students of Yishun Junior
College and is applicable to students who pursue the first year
BBA course offered by University of Canberra at its Singapore
extended campus, AMSBS.
AMSBS
plans its activities in the light of the external
context, monitors their implementation, and builds on the
outcomes for quality improvement. Its approaches to quality
assurance focus on formal processes for course approval and
reviews of academic units. As such, all examination papers from
the University of Canberra will be administered by invigilators
from IDP Australia (Singapore). It is audited by the
Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) to ensure the
consistency and quality assurance in delivery of offshore
programs by the University of Canberra in Singapore.
AMSBS is certified in 2001 to operate a quality
management system which complies with the requirements of BS EN
ISO 9001:2000 for both diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate
programs. It is also accredited by Education Office, China
Embassy (PRC) in Singapore in 2003 and CASETRUST certified for
education in 2005 for good business practices.
